What is Hip Hop Experience Dance Camp?
The Hip Hop Experience Dance camp teaches intergenerational Hip Hop Dance authentically, contextually, and experientially. Through engaging and interactive instruction, youth will explore the fundamentals of Hip Hop Dance while learning technique, vocabulary, dynamics and the musicality of Hip Hop. Students learn the elements of Hip Hop culture while learning movements from each era and/or region. Camp includes: dance instruction, graffiti art, audio/visual projects, breaking (footwork), choreography, interactive dance-related games/activities, videos, documentaries and more!

Limited scholarship opportunities are available. If price is a barrier for your family, please let us know in your registration or reach out to registration@danceexchange.org.
Refund Policy
If you cancel your registration before or on the registration Deadline, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel your registration after the registration Deadline but before the first class, you will receive a 50% refund. No refunds are given after the first class of the session.

María Daniel
Founder and Artistic Director,
iDance
María Daniel is the 2024 Community Impact Award Recipient for Dance Education, a National Dance Foundation Partner and creator of the copyrighted Hip Hop Experience Dance Class, Camp and Curriculum (HHE). HHE has been featured on CBS, NBC and in various publications. María is an accomplished dancer, choreographer, educator, author and lawyer with 30+ years of experience. As the Founder and Artistic Director of iDance Ministry (dba iDance Experience), María passionately advances Hip Hop Dance education in public schools and colleges in New Jersey and in New York City. HHE teaches intergenerational Hip Hop authentically, contextually, and experientially. HHE is implemented with social emotional learning and DEIA. María explores the therapeutic qualities of Hip Hop Dance and has conducted innovative research in this area. She received 5 mayoral proclamations for her work through iDance and a 2023 Joint Resolution by the NJ Senate and Assembly for her meritorious record of service, leadership, and commitment as a dance educator who leverages the creative arts to benefit those impacted by mental health issues, addiction, and disabilities. She is also certified to teach Hip Hop Dance to youth with special needs. Her most personal project, "Project BrOKen," explores mental health, addiction and disabilities through dance.
